Quarter calf, marbled boards, gilded spine. Includes tailpiece. Owner's signature "Cha. Smith", inscribed "William Ford to Jane Ford his daughter." First English edition of a work by bookseller/publisher and play-prompter turned theatrical manager and novelist William Rufus Chetwood (ca. 1688-1766), following the Dublin original (see Bib# 4103123/Fr# 459 in this collection).
