Bland de många tusen konstnärer som bär upp Moderna Museets samling så är de 125 självfallet ett urval bland andra möjliga. En samling är inte heller statisk, med tiden tillkommer fler verk och i ett efterord beskrivs de strategiska riktningarna för hur samlingen växer. Moderna Museet: Samlingen is the book that in one concentrate presents 125 works of art, from the beginning of the 20th century to today. For the photographic image, the history goes all the way back to the 1840s, the first year of photography. Among the many thousands of artists who support the Moderna Museet's collection, the 125 are of course a selection among others possible. A collection is not static either, over time more works will be added and an afterword describes the strategic directions for how the collection grows. We wish that reading the book will inspire many visits to the Modern Museum!
