This monograph introduces a model for the origin of sexual preference based on a Cartesian dualist-interactionist theory of mind-body based on "Noetic Field Theory: The Quantization of Mind" which postulates a teleological life principle tantamount to the Unified Field of Physics or as sometimes stated the Spirit of God. The model postulates that a prenatal stressor at a critical stage of embryonic development causes a reversal of the noetic field during the period it is being laid down. This idea is based on the concept of Jung's Collective Unconscious and the associated archetypes of the anima and animus (male-female archetypes) and that they are physically real. A number of metaphors are used to aid understanding of the model. Most saliently is reversal of the Earth's geomagnetic field every few hundred thousand years by cosmic forces such as the solar wind acting on the em field of the Earth's molten core. The model is empirically testable.
