These two stories have no basis in fact. They feature Dshukha [Juha or Goha or Nasreddin Hoca], a legendary mischief-maker among the Sefardic Jews. The first story is of how Dshukha fooled the rich man who judged him as a worthy guest solely by his clothing. The second, set in Eastern Europe, is about how the stingy host Getsil repented and taught his family a lesson--that you give a hungry man to eat first--by going into exile for a year and somehow arriving the same day as Dshukha, a poor Sefardic Jewish guest.--
