Recently gifted to the Art Gallery of NSW, the John Kaldor Family Collection comprises over 200 works, including in-depth representation of Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Jeff Koons, Sol LeWitt, Robert Rauschenberg and Ugo Rondinone, Michael Landy among others. Minimalism is a cornerstone, with impressive works by Donald Judd, Carl Andre and Frank Stella. There is a strong performative element, including works by Gilbert & George, Richard Long and Francis Alys; an exceptional holdings of German photography with key works by Andreas Gursky, Thomas Struth and Thomas Demand; and video art that ranges from Nam June Paik and Bill Viola to a younger generation of Australians such as Shaun Gladwell.
