The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is now being offered as an internet-based test, or iBT, and the new edition of Barron’s TOEFL manual has been completely revised and updated to reflect the new format. It presents seven full-length model TOEFL iBT tests with explanations or examples for all questions, including sample essays and speaking responses. The author also offers general orientation to the new TOEFL iBT, as well as a review of academic skills, which include note taking, paraphrasing, summarizing, and synthesizing. There is also a review of language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing.Table-of-Contents:ORIENTATIONTo the Student: How to Use This Book to SucceedTo the Teacher: Recommendations and ResourcesSyllabus OptionsFAQs—Frequently Asked Questions About the TOEFL iBTStudy HabitsMODEL TEST 1: PRETESTACADEMIC SKILLSTaking NotesParaphrasingSummarizingSynthesizingMODEL TEST 2: PROGRESS TESTREVIEW OF TOEFL iBT SECTIONSReadingListeningSpeakingWritingMORE MODEL TESTSModel Test 3: Progress TestModel Test 4: Progress TestModel Test 5: Progress TestModel Test 6: Progress TestModel Test 7: Progess TestANSWERS AND AUDIO SCRIPTS FOR ACTIVITIES, QUIZZES, AND MODEL TESTSAnswers and Audio Scripts for Practice Activities in Chapter 3Answers and Audio Scripts for Quizzes in Chapter 5Explanatory or Example Answers and Audio Scripts for Model TestsModel Test 1: PretestModel Test 2: Progress TestModel Test 3: Progress TestModel Test 4: Progress TestModel Test 5: Progress TestModel Test 6: Progress TestModel Test 7: Progress TestSCORE ESTIMATESImportant Background InformationProcedure for ScoringReference ChartsExamples for Scoring Model TestsFeedbackOptions for Personal EvaluationRESOURCESGlossary of Campus Vocabulary
