Larrañaga was one of the few artists that favor the regime of Juan Domingo Perón", this political affiliation later, caused the neglect of his work "'Peronist painter' or 'painter of the regime' his destiny was political persecution, the separation of his name from the history of art in Argentina, ostracism and even the destruction of some of his most emblematic works. His early death in 1956 reinforced the idea that Larrañaga was the painter that never happened.
