The Lotus Sutra or Sutra on the White Lotus of the Sublime Dharma (Sanskrit: सद्धर्मपुण्डरीकसूत्र Saddharmapuṇḍarīkasūtra; Chinese: Miaofa lianhua jing 妙法蓮華經; Japanese: 妙法蓮華経 Myōhō Renge Kyō, also 法華経 hokekyō; Korean: 묘법연화경(妙法蓮華經) Myobeop Yeonhwa Gyeong; Vietnamese: Diệu Pháp Liên Hoa Kinh) is one of the most popular and influential Mahayana sutras in Asia, and the basis on which the Tiantai and Nichiren sects of Buddhism were established.
