This book discusses the foundations of cryptozoology (the investigation of mystery animals) as a targeted search methodology for new or "lost" species. It includes discussion of the rationale, methodology, feasibility, and credibility of cryptozoology, as well as some examination of its ethnozoological roots. The second part of the book looks at a variety of alleged mystery animals from around the world.
