"Part of a long term project that began in 1981 with a personal project of photographer Roberto Edwards and followed with the exhibition and large catalogue of 45 artists working in Chile, creating paintings on and interpreting the human body. The second stage of this ambitious project includes 47 noted artists and photographers from throughout the Americas and selected world sites in creating an experimental workshop with the human body as the protagonist. The artists attended the workshop in Santiago de Chile to create their individual projects. In addition to the fine arts aspect cultural and ethnographic themes of bodypainting from a diverse range of indigenous communities (especially Southern Patagonia and Africa) have been included.
