Shakespeare.’ In the preface to his own translation of ps-Musaeus, Hero and Leander, in urging the great antiquity of that poem, Theobald casually dismisses the opinions of Scaliger, Heinsius, Vossius (on Onomacritus) and Bentley (on Phalaris).
