At the beginning of the 1970s despite being a part of that current defined by Menna as "Analytical Painting," my work actually presented itself with peculiar characteristics: it was neither a painting, nor a sculpture, had neither a frame, nor a canvas, but rather broke down the concept of the painting into fragments; the wall became a part of the work, no longer merely a passive recipient. The elements were disseminated in space. I was attempting to rewrite my own personal syntax of painting, exalting the characteristics of painting and of the surface and the analytical attention to colour which I took in completely, in order to transform it into something "beyond." In more recent years my work has gone in new directions, investigated the essence of space as the site of the propagation of colour, trying to push the limits of knowledge. My fragments are restless bodies of painting projected into space, oscillating in small or large formations and bearing the marks of the anxious plasticity and visual joy of colour pulsating with luminous vibrations.
