Dieser Band widmet sich dem Phänomen "Kontrafaktum" in verschiedenen Epochen und Kontexten. Der Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf der Musik im Mittelalter und in der Renaissance. Neben übergreifenden Betrachtungen, welche die Komplexität und Vielschichtigkeit der unterschiedlichen Phänomene der Kontrafaktur thematisieren, beleuchten mehrere Fallstudien spezifische Aspekte der "contrafactio." Ziel ist, eine erneute kritische Reflexion des vielschichtigen Themas anzustossen. Es geht um Fragen nach der Bedeutung, der Zielsetzung und der Wirkung von Neutextierungen in der einstimmigen wie der polyphonen Musik. Die Beiträge berücksichtigen sowohl die mündliche Tradition als auch die kompositorische Praxis und gehen interdisziplinär an das Thema heran. This volume is dedicated to the phenomenon of "contrafacta" in different epochs and contexts. The focus is on music in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. In addition to general considerations that address the complexity and complexity of the various phenomena of the contrafactum, several case studies shed light on specific aspects.
