This is a history of the Second New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry regiment in the American Civil War from April 1861 to April 1864 or from First Bull Run to Cold Harbor. It was written by Martin Haynes who was a newspaper man both before and after the war and who served three years in the Second New Hampshire being mustered out as a Captain.
