Scratchings
Work detail
Scratchings takes the form of a personal memoir that focuses on the author's recently-discovered aboriginal family connection. It explores interaction between aboriginals and whites in Ontario over several centuries through the experiences of the Davis family, members of the Six Nations (Iroquois) of the Grand River. Scratchings is really therefore a hybrid, being a combination of fully-researched history, genealogy and the very personal being used to reveal and reflect on the nature of prejudice.
