Desert rose
Work detail
"Involved, but not too involved." That, in a nutshell, was Karl von Buren's philosophy on life...and love. And it was shared by many of the coolly elegant women who moved in his social circle. It explained why Karl didn't quite know what to make of Paula Stewart. Paula was hardworking and strong-willed, and she had no time in her busy life for a man who only wanted to relax and play--to distract her from her work. Even if he was drop-dead gorgeous. Karl and Paula were like oil and water--their life-styles and backgrounds didn't mix. But undeniably these opposites were attracted.
