An anthology of the work of Marcio Veloz Maggiolo one of the most prolific Dominican writers. Marcio Veloz Maggiolo (1936) fiction writer, poet, literary critic, essayist and anthropologist, considered one of the most widely published and acclaimed Dominican authors. His many awards include the Premio Nacional de Poesía in 1961 for Intus, and several Premio Nacional de Novela for El buen ladrón in 1962, La biografía difusa de Sombra Castañeda in 1981, Materia prima in 1990 and Ritos de cabaret 1996. He also received the Premio Nacional de Cuento in 1981 for La fértil agonía del amor and the National Prize for Literature in 1996. With his novel La Mosca Soldado (2004) he was awarded the Premio de Narrativa José María Arguedas (2006) by La Casa de las Américas, Cuba. Some of his more recent works include Materia Prima (2006), Memoria tremens (2009), Novelas y relatos bíblicos (2010), La cultura dominicana, momentos formativos (2012), En nombre del recuerdo, ensayos (2012) and Memorias reversibles (2012).
