The present volume, written by a group of well-known experts, both Greek and non-Greek, represents the first systematic attempt at analyzing the problems and difficulties of adjustment, evaluating the gains and losses of membership, and assessing the country's prospects in the evolving EU. In this context each chapter deals with areas of specific interest to Greece including macro-economic policy and trade, agriculture, monetary policy, regional policy, the EU and the political system, political parties, foreign and security policy, political culture, consumer protection, health and labour mobility.
