The ALBERTINA Museum welcomes the Othmar Huber Collection for a one-year appearance as part of the permanent presentation Monet to Picasso. The Batliner Collection. A selection of 15 works from the collection of Swiss ophthalmologist Othmar Huber (1892-1979) is being presented, giving rise to a dialogue between these two outstanding accumulations of classical modernist art. The focus of this encounter between key modernist masterpieces is on German Expressionism as well as the early Bauhaus movement with works by Franz Marc, August Macke, Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee. Furthermore, two important paintings by Picasso?the Sleeping Drinker (1902) and Head of a Woman (1963), presented together with the ALBERTINA Museum?s own rich Picasso holdings?round out this special guest appearance. The exhibited works are on loan from the Othmar Huber Foundation, kept at Kunstmuseum Bern, and the Kunsthaus Glarus. Exhibition: Albertina, Vienna, Austria (22.02.2020 - 21.02.2021).
