Forms of Salvation 'invites you to discover seven sculptures and a painted panel from the Val Duchesse abbey. These works are part of the collection of Abbé Mignot, they were bequeathed to the Royal Donation and deposited in the L Museum. Through this book, the Museum wishes to highlight the conservation / restoration work carried out at the Royal Institute for Artistic Heritage (IRPA) thanks to the Baillet Latour Fund. Beyond its practical utility which guarantees the salvation, the sustainability and the transmission of this heritage to future generations, this intervention made it possible to inform the uses and the history of the sculptures, often altered according to the circumstances of their exhibition. It is therefore also the participation of these works in religious life and more precisely their role in the quest for salvation by the faithful Christians that is at the heart of the work. Emmanuelle Mercier (IRPA), Erika Rabelo (IRPA) and Matthieu Somon (UCLouvain) offer here a kind of pragmatics of religious art and document the inscription of works in the religious life of the medieval period: interactions were there a lot. more alive than their current presentation can lead you to believe! Ces œuvres font partie de la collection de l'abbé Mignot, elles ont été léguées à la Donation royale et mises en dépôt au Musée L. À travers ce livre, le Musée souhaite mettre en valeur le travail de conservation/restauration mené à l'Institut royal du patrimoine artistique ( IRPA ) grâce au Fonds Baillet Latour. Au-delà de son utilité pratique qui garantit le salut, la pérennité et la transmission de ce patrimoine aux générations futures, cette intervention a permis de renseigner les usages et l'historique des sculptures, souvent remaniées au gré des circonstances de leur exposition. C'est donc aussi la participation de ces oeuvres à la vie religieuse et plus précisément leur rôle dans la quête du salut par les fidèles chrétiens qui est au coeur de l'ouvrage.
