If you ask most Bible students if the Law of Moses is still in effect today, they will say "no." Yet, while all three views of the end times affirm that the Law of Moses has been removed, they all then appeal to the Old Testament for a future coming of the Lord at the end of the age. If the old law was done away in the first century, how is it possible to appeal to that ostensibly dead law for a future hope? How can one appeal to a dead law, a dead covenant, for a future hope? The relationship between the fulfillment of the Law of Moses and the biblical eschatology is one of the most critical, yet overlooked issues in evangelical Christianity today. This is the issue of Israel and eschatology, i.e. the end of the age. Has God fulfilled his promises to his covenant people, or have all the jots and tittles of Torah been fully accomplished? Simply stated: if the Old Covenant promises of the end have not been fulfilled, Israel remains as God's chosen, covenant people. If the Law of Moses was fulfilled and removed in the first century, then the coming of the Lord, judgment and resurrection have been fulfilled. There is no other choice! This is one of the most in-depth examinations of Jesus' words in Matthew 5:17-18 ever produced. In this volume, prolific author Don K. Preston, D.Div., takes a careful look at what Jesus said. He then examines the various arguments offered by those who say that while Torah has passed, the promises of the end remain valid. As Preston shows in a powerful, logical and convincing manner, Jesus did not say when some of the law is fulfilled, it will pass. He did not say when most is fulfilled it will pass. He said, "not one jot or one tittle shall pass until it is all fulfilled." Those words, properly understood, falsify all modern views of eschatology! You will not find another book like this anywhere. It may well change your life! - Back cover.
