Shadow Fall
Work detail
There was no substitute for love London schoolteacher Marion Thomas was devoted to all her pupils. They filled the emotional gap left after a disastrous affair. But her newest pupil, Rebecca, seemed to have a special need for her. When Rebecca's father, writer Nicol Jarvis, explained the child had lost her mother, her attachment seemed more understandable. And by then, Marion was too deeply in love with Nicol to question any further. But when Rebecca accidentally revealed Marion's close resemblance to Nicol's dead wife, Marion had to question whether she was merely a stand-in for the more exciting, still-remembered Andrea Jarvis.
