Aileen Seaton is a lawyer and former fencing champion. When a dying man confesses that the Scottish writer, Calum Weir, is innocent of the double murder of his wife and her lover, Aileen meets him in prison. He's serving a life sentence, but remembers nothing of the horrific murders. So why is he so scared to even talk about them? And why do his nightmares involve the poisonous plant, monkshood? Aileen's convinced that Weir was framed, but as she pierces the enigma the killers come after her. Only her talent with an old dueling sword can save her.
