Insularity and development
Work detail
Insularity and Development: International Perspectives on Islands focuses on the concept of insularity within the context of development theory and, within this framework, provides a variety of integrated and illustrative case studies. Insularity is of the highest importance, as so many countries are insular in whole or in part, yet the concept is not devoid of ambiguity. The main emphasis is on methodological issues and the concept of degrees of insularity is introduced as a tool for a better understanding of the phenomena involved. With the fast-growing interest in islands and insularity, this volume will fill a gap in the literature on the subject.
