The completed manuscript for this work was found among James R Miller’s papers after his death in 1912 and published posthumously in 1913. Its content reflects a better day, when Sunday School teaching sought to reach young lives for the Lord by a direct presentation of the Gospel by serious-minded men and women. The personal walk of the Sunday School teacher is emphasised here as a vital foundation to usefulness; a real antidote to present-day superficiality. The privilege of involvement in the evangelisation of the young requires this level of commitment.
