Sarah Beaufort's life has settled down since the sinister murders in her grandmother's village of Beecham Thorny - murders which Sarah, childhood pal Larch Henderson and ex-Scotland Yarder Ben Marshall investigated. Sarah is in a successful West End production, proving her doubting father wrong; Larch is off finding inspiration for his paintings around Europe and Ben can finally settle into retirement, caring for his prize-winning Siamese cats. But all is thrown awry when one of Sarah's colleagues is brutally strangled by a mystery admirer - whose real object turns out to have been Sarah herself. And when another of Sarah's admirers, loveable rogue Giles Henderson, is found murdered, Sarah's enquiring mind starts working overtime, making connections with a recent spate of jewel thefts. Larch and Ben hope that a holiday in France will keep Sarah out of harm's way, but it turns out they couldn't have been more wrong ...
