The publication "Other Rooms, Other Voices” consists of a CD with original audio-work by 15 contemporary artists and a book with visual contributions, concepts, and texts by the artists. The audio works were specifically conceived and realized for a presentation on Schweizer Radio DRS (Swiss Radio DRS). The book includes an essay by Roland Barthes, a conversation between Daniel Kurjakovic and Franziska Baetcke, editor at Swiss Radio, Channel 2, a theoretical note and comments about the various artists. For "Other Rooms, Other Voices”, artists were invited to analyze and recode the medium and at the same time to make clear their attitudinal stance. The work of the artists arises from different conceptual and cultural backgrounds. The publication "Other Rooms, Other Voices” is based on an audio project, which was curated by Daniel Kurjakovic and broadcast by Swiss Radio, Channel 2, in January 1999.
