Conscious Business
Work detail
Loosely in the genre of personal mastery, Kofman makes the case for self-awareness in the business arena. Essentially, he says, as leader you are an instrument for determining outcome. Among other things, he looks at building commitment, emotional intelligence, effective dialogue, values and defining moments. His two compelling theories are his victim/player assessment (how to train yourself to be a victim not a player) and his formulae for making and sustaining a commitment (arguing that the leader has as much a responsibility to correctly frame the commitment as the co-worker has to honour it). A wonderful book, well written and full of nice stories and quotations.
