Single in the church
Work detail
By the year 2000, 52% of the population of the United States over the age of 25 will be single. The implications of this prognosis for an institution such as the Church are enormous. The patterns of worship and program will require a radical shift away from the traditional nuclear family. In her book, Dr. Collier-Slone points out ways to engage the problem and does a tremendous service in lifting up congregations which have successfully begun to make this shift. Her book not only helps the leadership of congregations but also gives a reassuring new perspective to those who are living alone. - Pamela P. Chinnis, on back cover.
