AV, Alberto Vargas
Work detail
Exhibition consisting of more than 35 sculptures produced over a period of 30 years by architect and sculptor Alberto Vargas (b.1958, Monterrey, N.L.) in various sizes and formats and using different materials such as stainless steel, tiger's eye stones, marble, oil ink, alabaster, ruby stones and sterling silver. "Curvilinear elements of organic appearance, stems, germinations, rhythms that also relate to the musical, finishing some in semiprecious stones, et cetera. Vargas is a lover and connoisseur of plants, a landscaper with experience in England. His vision of space and the creation of his works tie in a unique way with the concepts of the award-winning Pritzker Luis Barragán, a balance and total harmony between the land, the work (architectural or sculptural) and the garden. Only thus, these three elements are conjugated to each other achieving timelessness and transcendence" (HKB Translation) --Page 29.
