Aimed at medical students and trainees, this text presents succinct information about the wide variety of behavioural, social and psychological sciences that comprise the behavioural sciences relevant to health and wellness. Brain and behaviour, culture and ethnicity, complementary medicine, clinical decision-making, and psychopathology are featured sections. Each chapter begins with guidance questions and ends with recommended readings and review questions. A complete 300-plus question-and-answer USMLE-type review section not only allows readers and students to check how well they have learned the material, but also highlights important points and adds additional specific information to supplement the text. The authors of this text are experienced teachers and researcers drawn primarily from the membership of the Association for the Behavrioural Sciences and Medical Education. A companion "instructor's manual" should be available online to provide creative ideas for teaching that will capitalize on experiential learning.
