The sources of Shang history is focused on the era of the eight or nine kings from Wu Ting to Ti Hsin for which contemporary Shang inscriptions, a series of divination inscriptions carved onto approximately one hundred thousand scapula and plastron fragments over three thousand years ago, are available.
