Abe Lincoln and Nancy Hanks
Work detail
This is a tribute to the mother of Abraham Lincoln by the acclaimed American writer, Elbert Hubbard, first published in 1927. Elbert Green Hubbard (June 19, 1856 – May 7, 1915) was an author, publisher, artist, and philosopher. He was perhaps most well known for his essay A Message to Garcia. Hubbard wrote this brief book as a tribute to Abraham Lincoln and his mother, Nancy Hanks Lincoln, but didn’t live to see it published. He died on board the Lusitania when it was torpedoed in 1915. But his beloved tribute to Honest Abe and his mother has endured for almost a century. Republished at [link text][1] [1]: http://www.lulu.com/product/paperback/abe-lincoln-and-nancy-hanks/2139964
