The maiden effort of a poet's 'idle hours at Sea' and subsequent 'imployment of some of my vacant time a Shoar,' combined with a brief biography of the supposed author 'Gallus,' the translation is dubiously attributed to the young Hovenden Walker (1666?-1725).
